About Me

I started programming at the age of 12. Our Computer Sciences class included 45 minutes of theory on Tuesdays, followed by practical sessions on Windows 98 and later Windows XP. During these classes, I learned programming fundamentals such as data structures, compiling, and execution using QBasic, a variant of BASIC. My first program was a bank management software, which could save transactions, user details, and provide an interface for doing basic CRUD operations on them. Additionally, I was taught the basics of C and HTML/CSS.

After school, I learned web development. I learned extensive HTML/CSS and basic JS and would power my backend via PHP. My database of choice would be mostly MySQL. With this, I did some volunteering for different organizations, mostly for internal use cases.

Around 2015, I started working in my university's institute for informatics, where I had to develop and maintain different solutions for user management, general booking systems (courses, rooms, etc.), and also documentation. In 2019, I was offered a position as an intern in the eye clinic of my university, where I was tasked with automation and export of data from clinical systems for research. Also in 2019, I worked on my first issue on Pandas (a data processing library in Python). From there on, I started contributing to open-source projects. Since 2022, I switched from the medical field to full-time data engineering in Pexon Consulting.

Additionally, I have been serving as a committee member in the Pandas Code-Of-Conduct Team

This blog is a hobby project of mine and I want to use this medium as an outlet for a variety of topics, including technical and non-technical topics. I also want to keep this strictly personal and therefore all views expressed here are mine and made under personal freedom.
